In Windows 2000, is it possible to run SFC /SCANNOW (System File Checker) on a PC and have it look at a mapped network drive for the installation files?
If so, how do I do this?
Thanks in advance.

NO
it has to be the CD of windows 2000.
M$ did this because the files on the cd are not going to change.

If windows was installed from a network then it may be possable to do what you want, but if it\'s been installed locally from a hdd or cdrom then it unlikely to work!, you could always try changing the install path to the network path, if you can find it.

Thanks, I changed the SourcePath in the registry for Setup and it worked. You have to map the NetDrive first though.
