hmmmm i think mabey your cd rom has some sort of mystical curse.
try poking a badger with a spoon several times on a tuesday just after midnight,
if that dont work im out of ideas.

I\'m thinking about , masters ,slaves,faulty ide connections ,

If the sysem had and bios updates of ether the cdrom or the motherboard it cause problems like that is there was a error with the bios error

There\'s too few info to give a more or less accurate response to the question .
I personnally would check my cables
first ,( try the two cables with my harddisk ) as I allways keep the bios up to date , then put the cdrom in another computer and try again . I know you can try everything out .

why waste your time.... load your bios back to defaults (for trouble shooting) take that damn CDROM back and get yourself a pair of nice new ROUND ATA cables... then try again... (the round ata cables improve air flow in your pc and have absolutely nothin to do with your problem, but it sounds like a good time to replace/upgrade them).

Thanks ,I have round ata cables and even a round floppy disk cable .
