Hi all, I \"had\" a friend touch my Win XP Pro Corp ED. a while back after he saw the \"Make your own boot screen\" page.
Needless I\'m no longer friends with the \"ASS\" that screwed it up. Whenever I go to start up the machine everything is cool until it gets to the part you\'d normally hit F8 to go into advanced for safe mode & crap.
Well it gives me 2 options...
1. Boot up into Windows XP Pro
or
2. Boot up into New Test boot (which does the same thing as #1)
It gives me like 29 seconds to decide which boot I want.
Both work the same cuz my EX-Friend that screwed it up over a weeked couldn\'t figure it out.
He did mention certain files that he tweaked & this site where he go the info before I almost beat the crap outta him.
I just want my XP Pro Corp. to start \"NORMAL\" like when I first installed it, without choosing which thing I should boot up in. It\'s annoying as hell!
Here is a list of the files supposenly he tweaked with & the link to the page he was reading about.
Files:
ntoskrnl.exe
ntosboot.exe
Link:

Any help would \"VERY MUCH\" appreciated!

one Question, why did you lett someone else tamper with your pc, you should of told your friend to tamper with his own.
you could try using \" sfc /scannow \" bit that probably fail as the files modified are core system files

that boot option is located in the boot.ini file.
right click on my computer > properties > advanced > startup and recovery > edit.
then delete the last line only.
that should do it for you.

He\'s got his on PC now & I have made sure that I am the only one on my computer with admin rights. I Guess it serves me right for \"Trusting\" someone...
Tracky110XP: OMG YOU ROCK! I deleted the last entry & the \"Choose boot\" during start up is now gone!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! I really appreciate the help on that. You rule man!!!!!
