Hi people!
A noob from downunder. So, please be gentle.
Just obtained my first ever laptop. (second hand)
It is a Toshiba Tecra 9000. Seems to be working perfectly.
It came with all recover discs and manuals.
Now, what I want to do is format and clean install XP Pro. (new, legal)
When I insert recover disc 1, I get a very unfriendly “wrong machineâ€.
The former owner assures me that this is the only set of discs she ever had for this machine and has never had reason to use them.
My question is: If I install XP normally, without the recover discs, is it likely to turn into a big paperweight?
Is there any known way to turn this into the “right machine
The Toshiba site has 14 XP drivers for this machine.
Thanks in advance.
