Title: New Laptop
Post by: Shibbiness on December 28, 2007, 07:13:38 PM
Well i just got this new laptop for christmas, but im having troubles with counter strike source.

The lap itself is a Toshiba A200 Satellite.

Heres the processor info:

The graphics card is Mobile Intel 965 Express chipset family, which is 358 mb.

I run direct x10 and have windows vista home premium.

I play cs:s regularly on my desktop (which  im on right now) and it runs fine with my Nvidia Geforce fx5200 graphics card, which is pretty dam old.

The game opens up and i can get into a server on my laptop, but it lags a LOT. I can barely move around and shoot.

Any ideas?

Not that laptops are great gaming machines
But it should run
If your connected wireless, try direct cable connection

Make sure your video card drivers are updated.. your processor is sorta.. slow, but its enough..

Like guestolo said.. it could ultimately be your connection, or the servers connection.. Check your PING in-game.

i looked my card up on the intel site, and found out how to manually update the video card. I tried just updating via device manager, but it couldnt find any new drivers.
When i manually installed it, i noticed something was working since my screen kept going black, and now, after it restarted, i tried the game and its not choppy anymore /biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />. I still lag a bit, but as you guys said, its just the connection.

Thanks
