Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I can't seem to upload files on any computer in my home. Mainly I'm having trouble with the sites http://www.megaupload.com (http://\"http://www.megaupload.com\") and http://www.rapidshare.com (http://\"http://www.rapidshare.com\"). I'd love to be able to upload there, instead of e-mailing myself attachments (>.>) but everytime I try the internet "breaks" and I have to restart the router.
I'm using Verizon FiOS if that helps.

Not that it's malware related
But can you post the following log
Download Hijackthis Installer from HERE (http://\"http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe\")
For an alternate download location, you can try HERE (http://\"http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/HijackThis/1071179190/1\")
SAVE it to your desktop
Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run it
Choose Install
Hijackthis v2.0.2 will open
Under Main Menu, Select
Open MISC TOOLS SECTION>>Open UNINSTALL MANAGER
Click the SAVE LIST... button
Save the list to your desktop then copy>>Paste back here the Whole contents

Had a user that had the same problem with MySpace
Not sure if it was the removal of older Java versions that helped, but it appeared fixed afterwards
Do you need the Java Development kit installed?
If your unsure, it's more than likely you don't
I suggest you do the following
Close all Browser windows, including this one
Access your add/remove programs and remove older versions of Java
This includes
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
Also, as mentioned earlier, you may need to remove
J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 10
Afterwards, run CCleaner and clean temp files,etc...
Reboot the computer and see if that's any help
-
Ok, that worked a bit, now it doesn't break when I start to upload. It now "breaks" once it is done uploading.. Any help on this part? I did everything you said to
/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />.

Let's try this again
Sun Java just had a recent update again
Go to the following link
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?intcmp=1281 (http://\"http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?intcmp=1281\")
Scroll down to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 4
Click the DOWNLOAD button on the right
In the new window select your appropriate Operating Platform and Language
Put a tick next to
"I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement"
Then click CONTINUE
Under "Windows Offline Installation 15.12 MB
Select the link
jre-6u4-windows-i586-p.exe
Save this too desktop but don't install yet
Instead, again close browser windows
Open the Windows Control Panel and open the JAVA icon
Under the General tab>>Delete Files
Then close Java
Access Add/remove programs and remove
Javaâ„¢ 6 Update 3
After removal, reboot the computer
Back in windows install the latest version of Java
See if that helps

By the way, since you have Hijackthis
After you do instructions from last reply
Can you run a Scan and save logfile with Hijackthis and post the log that opens
Let's ensure it's clean
-
Still nothing.. thanks for all your help so far by the way

Nothing unusual in the log
Is this problem happening in both IE and Firefox?
-
Yessir
You think it may be the internet, or the ISP?
-
Have you had problems in the past uploading or downloading from either Megaupload or Rapidshare?
Are you using free service?
Have you exceeded bandwidth limits
Close browser windows
Try the following and see if any help
1. Click the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Accessories
4. RIGHT-click on Command Prompt
5. Select Run As Administrator
6. In the command window type the following and then hit enter: ipconfig /flushdns
Exit out of there
Any help?
If no help
Close browsers
Start IE with no addons
click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
See if Rapidshare works properly
