Are you using IE7?
If so, close IE then reopen without addons
START>>All programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>IE no addons
Then try the following
Download Hijackthis Installer from HERE (http://\"http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe\")
For an alternate download location, you can try HERE (http://\"http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/HijackThis/1071179190/1\")
SAVE it to your desktop
Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run it
Choose Install
Hijackthis v2.0.2 will open
Under Main Menu, Select
Do a system scan and save a Log file
A log will open in Notepad
Copy and Paste the Whole log back here to the forum----It is all important!
If you can't do that can you transfer Hijackthis from one computer to this one

Well, I hate to have users do this, but can you restart your computer in Safe mode with Networking
Download, install Hijackthis and then boot back to normal windows and run a scan/ save logfile and post the log?
-
uhh im not real sure how to do that
/unsure.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> im not that great with computers i can just use them ok lol
-
Restart the computer
Right after you hear the post beep, the single beep when the computer is starting up
Start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard
This should bring up a Startup menu
Use the cursor on your keyboard to scroll to "Safe mode with Networking"
Then hit Enter
Sign in with your usual account
-
ok then to undo it id just restart my pc again go to the menu and change it back? just wanna make sure cause knowing me id stuff up something lol
-
To get to normal windows again, simply just restart the computer as you usually do

Good news, I find if a user can run fine in safe mode with networking it may be a Firewall issue if not malware related
I assume that is what you found out also
I'll lock this as your problems are resolved
Take care r1ch dude12
