Title: WINDOW$ XP Networking INSANITY!!
Post by: b1nary-atr0phy on March 01, 2008, 09:16:38 PM
I'm trying to gain internet access on a wireless network from a PC without a wireless card through a laptop that has a wireless card using an ethernet cable in Windows XP but keep getting limited or no connectivity. It wont let me turn on internet connection sharing on the laptop because 192.168.0.1 is being used by the gateway, what can i do?

PS: Dont tell me to buy a wireless card for my PC, if i could afford it i would, in which case i wouldnt be asking the question

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Uh.. you don't connect a ethernet cord from your laptop to your PC... You connect it from the router... and if you have no access to the router what-so-ever... then you have no choice but buy a card or buy dial-up internet...
