Dear Hackers!
Maybe I´m just stupid or clueless, but I checked up everything in my might!
I Installed XP 3 weeks ago, I had 98 before, from that day on whenever I shut down my PC it won´t automatically switch off anymore! I´ve to push the power switch for 5 sec. to do it manually!
Has anyone had this problem or help in anyway???
Thanx a lot
Jack Pot

your system is too old to have an ACPI HAL,
go to the power options and then the APM tab, then check the box for enable APM support, that will fix the power down option.
also your system needs a bios update.

First of all, please give me your system specification?
try to format your hard disk again and make sure that you get the latest update from microsoft!
