Well sir, it doesn't appear to be steam related after all. Its been freezing up for other reasons without steam even running. It dumped on me and did a check disk when windows loaded up. I also had a ctfmon.exe error.

I went to the mini dump file in windows but it was empty.

Maybe my motherboard is starting to fail? Its not good what ever this is.....

Guess what its all been all along.

BAD IDE cable. Everything seems fine so far anyway.

Hopefully you have found the cause, let me know how it runs after a few days
