I have a copy of WinFax pro. I uninstalled it, rebooted the system, pretty much did what the uninstall instructions told me to do. Then one day I discovered that I needed the program again. I tryied to reinstall the program when an error message came up saying that there is a previous version of WinFax Pro that didnt complete the uninstall and a reboot was needed. Well I rebooted and after all that, tried to reinstall and same message came up. Now I cant understand why I am getting this message. HELP!!!!!!

Can you try the Microsoft Windows Cleanup utilility and see if Winfax is listed
http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9...1bd/msicuu2.exe (http://\"http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe\")
After installation simply go to Start>Programs>Windows Cleanup utility
Run it, is it in the list?

Did that, no luck...here the error message I get...Setup has detected that a previous installation of WinFax Prohas been uninstalled, but no reboot has accurred since the uninstall. You must reboot your system before running setup.
Does this help?
This is killing me, I can usually figure this stuff out and after 20 years of working with computers, I am stuck.
Thanks for your help

Do you have any other Symantec products installed?
You could try the Norton removal tool
I can link to it if you want to try it, but it removes all of Symantec's products
You must be willing to install them if you have them
Eg.. Norton AV and firewall

Yeah I know about all that. I spent about 2 hours on the Symantec website, I found forums about some simple winfax problems but nothing on what I need help with. I know I can install it on a fresh machine but right now I do not have a fresh machine unless I redo this machine and I am not in the mood to do that. I think that there is a stuburn .DLL file somewhere or whatever. This is killing me!!!!!

So did you try the tool?
Also, did you try this link?

Like I said before, it was a stuburn .dll file. All the steps the support file you sent me was done but for one, that .dll file.
It worked...
Thank you so much

Thanks for the update cerone
I'm sure you know this, but if you don't require the Windows Cleanup utility any further
It can be uninstalled from Add and Remove programs
