Hi,
Whenever I open setup.exe to install Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, a message pops up: Setup.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. Like the one here: http://rubenlaguna.com/wp/wp-content/uploa.../11/cygwin4.png (http://\"http://rubenlaguna.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/cygwin4.png\")
So I check drwtsn32.log. I find a part which I think is my error (Here's a translation): Application procedures accident occurred mistakes:
Application procedures: (pid = 1424)
Time: 2008-4-7 @ 17:27:51.605

What version of DirectX are you running
How much room on the harddrive, from what I remember, it's minimal
Video and Sound drivers updated?
-
Hi,
I am running DirectX version 4.09.00.0904, wierd the last time I checked it was DirectX 8.0c. Probably because of the restore. I am going to update it. Looks like you found the problem already, I hope.
Free space
=========
Drive C: 431 MB
Drive D: 0.99 GB
Drive E: 238 MB
Since the space is mostly taken up by games, I can easily uninstall a 1 GB game if I really needed to.
Video and Sound drivers updated?
How do I check that?
Thanks!

Hi,
I tried updating DirectX by downloading DirectX 8.1 and DirectX End-User Runtime. After both the DirectX version still stays the same!

Hi,
I am confused. In dxdiag it says the directX version is 4.09.00.0904 but I find out I actually have DirectX 9.0c, which is good, but RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 still doesn't work! It worked before! I checked the minimum requirements and I am sure that the computer passes all of them. Not so sure about the sound. But memory, disk space, Processor... all that is a pass. Another thing is Zoo Tycoon works and it is quite similar. Also I tried two different installation sources both display the same message.
At this point I am concerned about the following:
-Video and Sound drivers not updated
-Some change due to restore
-minimum requirements?
-services
-stack overflow Dr watson
Thats all I can think of right now.

There's your problem... way too small space even if the setup doesn't crash.
