Title: Hitachi or Western Digital hdd
Post by: winsurfer on May 12, 2008, 09:22:30 AM
My mobo is Asrock K7NF2-raid(my old hdd seagate barracuda: rest in pieces) And i have two options in my mind:Hitachi T7K500 or Western Digital Caviar SE16 500gb.What i need is: reliability.Because my "old" drive Seagate goes literally pieces less than 10 months.
So can you help me???  /wub.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

I just bought 2 Western Digital 500GB's. They seem to go extremely fast. Though, I've only had them for under a week so I don't know about longterm reliability.

I've used both western digital and Seagate for the longest of times. They both have been extremely cooperative with me, so I gave them a pat on the back (snuck a five to the western).

This topic jinxed me. My C drive just exploded...

I had to make my X drive my new main drive and reinstall everything, including Operating system. Now I only have 500GB instead of 1TB. I'm hoping this was just some random mishap and it isn't something common with Western Digital.
