Title: WinXP i386 files
Post by: JoséR on November 19, 2002, 12:45:17 AM
I have a WinXP Home Edition restore CD that came with a Compaq Presario. As you all know, it will only install on these models. Is it possible to extract the i386 and setup files and make a bootable CD to install on non-Compaq computers?

you could probably extract the i386 files and then if if you have acess to another standard xphome edition disk use the files you need from it to make a complete version. then you would need the boot bin sector files to burn a bootable CD.
