Drinking contributes to a wide range of effects on exposed babies, including attention and hyperactivity problems, problems with social and emotional development learning and memory deficits.

The most serious consequence of a mother drinking during pregnancy is fetal alcohol syndrome(FAS). Children with FAS have a distinctive set of facial anomalies, growth retardation, and significant learning and/or behavioral problems.

Even children prenatally exposed to lower levels of alcohol may exhibit learning and behavioral problems. So far, a threshold below which no fetal damage will occur has not been established. In other words, any amount of alcohol during pregnancy can be dangerous.

Bad times. I know i wouldnt drink if i were pregant but its the mothers choice, all you can do is warn them. If something bad did happen to the baby the mother should have to suffer the consequences because she is the reason it happened.

I know a girl who is pregnant and has been taking various substances and now the baby is brain damaged so she is going to abort it. I think thats its her fault that this has happened so she should keep the baby and suffer the consequences. On the other hand, it wouldnt be fair for the baby to be born into a life like that with a mother like her so you cant win really.

What is everyones opinion?

She took the substances various ways that are to harsh for some peoples ears, another day another dollar.
