Title: External Hard Drive
Post by: greazee on August 09, 2008, 10:19:41 PM
OK so today I was transferring 24gb of stuff to my new computer... when it had 30 seconds left it froze up making me restart the computer.

Ever since then whenever I plug the hard drive into the computer it freezes explorer, as soon as I take it out explorer works fine.

Also I tried plugging it into another computer that had XP instead of Vista, so I am assuming it is a problem with Vista instead of with the drive itself.

The same thing happened to me at school; except it was with my USB flashdrive. It didnt work on vista or xp. To this date that usb stick is sitting on top of my computer. Still doesnt work.

Then again i never tried to fix it. Hopefully you find an answer so i can smooch off of it.

I ended up zipping the files instead of just having a folder and then getting updates for vista also and it worked.... but if yours doesnt work with xp anymore then I think its a different problem
