Does anyone know how to get around installing SP1 for Office XP if you have a corp addition. I get an error everytime and the microsoft tech note is that I need a retail version. Any thoughts???

it can be gotten around and installed but here is the catch, once installed your office XP is no longer a corp or enterprise version and it will require activation. M$ has a history of sabatoging their office updates. which is why I wont install them even on a legit copy they still tend to cause problems.

Was is the work around. I can get the crack for the activation. Office XP is buggy now, not sure it could get worse with the patch.

Sorry for the typo..I meant what is the work around?
Thanks

Found the work-around and I don\'t have to re-activate or register. I got SP2 installed and now I can use the office update web page.

No need to use that crack...Just make an install point, update it to SP2 ...and then install OfficeXP using the install point ...works great for me ...
