May be a novice question but I tried what I thought would work and I am having problems. Help! Can't find help anywhere so figured I would post. Thanks a lot in advance

From the sound of it, all you need to do is open up Notepad and open the file in question, perform the edit, and save the new file, overwriting the old version.

I have tried doing a new file name, and then deleting the old one but the old one won't delete. I figured I am either screwed or just being real dumb.

Untick the Read Only attribute?
You may have to do this in a command prompt window
