hi i have an old compaq presario 900 laptop and the hinges are so loose that the screen wont stay open im not sure if their broken or not but if they can be fixed i would really appreciate the help also the b key doesnt work unless i hold up the top left corner of the laptop any advice on how to fix it?

plz help if u have any tips they would be greatly appreciated also im looking for ways to make it faster without spending much money any tips?

there is nothing wrong with the laptop other than it being slow and i dont want to waste money on a new ram either there are no viruses and so malicious software on it at all im just looking for ways to program it to make it run faster thats all are there any prgrans out there that are free that will clean up my computer for me?

It sounds as if the Hinges are broke or bolts/nuts are very loose
Either way, sounds as if your going to have to disassemble the laptop to fix it
You may be able to find a Maintenance or Service manual at Compaq/HP site
Most are basic, but gives you an idea how to remove keyboard, display, etc....
I don't think there is much anyone can do to help, you must be willing to disassemble product yourself or get it professionally repaired, which may cost a bit
I've had to disassemble my old Dell laptop on occassion,
Take note, if you are going to go the route of disassembly, ensure you clean out Heat sink, etc... while your inside the unit

i gave up on the laptop thanx n e ways tho the harddrive went bad and nothing would open so i got so mad i smashed it my realative gave me an old desktop so im happy with it thanx n e ways tho whoever replied to this post
