While a good number of players may see it as just a waste of money, as cheating, as (insert more reasons here), some players say "well I work all week and I'm not getting my value for money out of $20 a month".
Looking at the game as a newbie, many would think that the only game there is is end game.
There's a truck load of 70s around, a shed load of 60s, tons of raiders and casuals who play at the level cap. Leveling up is a long and tiring process, grinding for gold even moreso. So when they have an account that they don't log in very often (let's say an hour a day or a few hours on weekends), I would say they don't feel like they're able to catch up with the hard core crowd or even some of the casual crowd so they resort to these services to try and catch up.
Many players see buying gold as silly and a waste of cash but these players often don't. They want that 5000g epic mount now or even to get to level 70 so they can catch up, not in six months time when they may have the gold for it or have spent the time to level.
Thats why i brought 6000G from ignmax.com
