I have a toshiba a135-s2276 laptop.Whenever I plugged the ac adapter in about 2 weeks ago,it would work but it would have to be in a certain position and if you moved AT ALL it would stop charging the battery and the computer. When the ac adapter is not plugged into the laptop but into the outlet I can hear a ticking sound inside of the ac adapter.Im pretty sure this is a problem with the ac adapter not the jack. Also, do you think if I call up Toshiba and reason with them they will send me another one for free?Because my warranty is out.

I don't know they might send you a new one.
I do know that dell has a lot of problems with there AC adapters.
By the way you say a certain position it sounds as if the DC power jack may be be loose.

Well I opened it up and the dc jack is not soldered onto the board it slides into a slot on the back of the computer inside of it.THere are wires going into the dc jack from the board and none looked like bad joints.
