Title: Mic volume

one night my pc randomly restarted...but it didnt go to the desktop screen it just kept restarting. i eventually had to restore my pc with the D drive it came with just for that purpose. now everything works fine except my mic. its really low, almost mute.  I used Microphone boost but then everyone can hear my computer, over me. any ideas?
