Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to restrict internet access in xp without buying a program such as Net Nanny. I want to be able to only allow internet acess(web browsing, or IM, file downloading, etc.) for a specific time, for example only from noon to 9pm. After that the user can still use the computer but won't be able to get internet access. Is there a way to do this for Windows XP. Thanks.

I'm not sure what the best solution would be
There is software out there to do it, you would want to google for it
I would just get something like a Linksys router, or probably most any now
You would have to ensure it's feature when purchasing
In the Adminstration settings of the router you can restrict access time in most of them

if youre on a router, it can be configured to deny access to the ip of the computer in question.
Some routers have the capability of turning off internet at a specific time, but for others you can just go into
the router and restrict access to internet manually.
