Post the log from info.txt
Copy/paste the contents back here in a reply
There's a copy in the C:\rsit folder
Did you rename log.txt by chance?
Try this for Log.txt
Open it, look for a line similiar to the following
2008-12-07 16:37:20 ----RASH---- C:\boot. ini
It's under the section
======List of files/folders modified in the last 1 months======
Can you do one of 2 things
Either, notice C:\boot. ini
I put a single space right after boot. and before ini
You can do that, or delete that line altogether
Then try copy/paste back here the contents
-
im sorry,i have no idea what youre talking about.
i did the rsit scan, and posted the log.txt
there was no info.txt that opened up
if i could access it and post it,i wish i could
i looked on the log and found C:\boot. ini
but im not sure what i should do after that?
its not something thats clickable,so i really dont know what to do
that really sucks huh?
if theres another way for me to get a info.txt file,id be happy to try again
thanx
-
Go to START>>MyComputer>>Open Local Disk C: folder
Open rsit folder

-
i tried to post both log.txt and info.txt, and got error message, cannot post logs
any suggestions?
i cant upload them either w/o getting error message
-
All I want to see is the whole log from rsit.exe titled log.txt
Can you ensure you have run a fresh scan with rsit.exe
When the log opens, save a copy to your desktop
Open that log
Look for a line similiar to the following
2008-12-27 16:37:20 ----RASH---- C:\boot. ini
It's under the section
======List of files/folders modified in the last 1 months======
Delete ONLY that line from the log
Then try posting a copy of the contents back here
Did you try that yet?
If not, I would like to use Savefile.com, but they're unavailable at the moment
Maybe you can upload a copy to Rapidshare
http://rapidshare.com/ (http://\"http://rapidshare.com/\")
No registration required, post the download link back here
-
ok,thanx here is the d/l link to rapidshare

Okay, I see you have Avast! AntiVirus installed
And also
Anti-Virus (Command Software)
Having more than one AV installed can cause conflicts and system instabilities
Can you do the following
You have also since, installed Spybot S&D.
I want to temporarily disable the TeaTimer to eliminate it from interrupting and resources
Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on Resident icon.
Uncheck Teatimer box.
Click Allow Change box if prompted
Close Spybot
After you disabled Teatimer, download ResetTeaTimer.bat
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat (http://\"http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat\")
to your desktop. (In case you use Firefox, rightclick the link and choose "save as").
Doubleclick ResetTeaTimer.bat and let it run.
You will be prompted to select any key a couple times
This will only take a few seconds.
Afterwards: Find and delete the following file, it's no relation to TeaTimer by the way
C:\WINDOWS\tasks\ruxjptqh.job < this file
I would opt to hold onto Avast!, my personal preference
If you decide to go this route
Access your Add and Remove Programs
Remove any reference to the following
Anti-Virus (Command Software)
Authentium AntiVirus SDK - 2
Authentium Web Install Helper
Reboot afterwards
Come back and post a fresh Hijackthis log
Let me know if things have improved a bit
Also, when did you install all the following
Anti-Spyware (Sunbelt)
Anti-Spyware (Sunbelt) Definitions
Clearwire (CLUS)
-
ok,so i did all that and i got a fresh log..but
i found one instance of Authentium in Remove Programs, and removed it,but not all of these-
Anti-Virus (Command Software)
Authentium AntiVirus SDK - 2
Authentium Web Install Helper
i never installed or knew of the following
Anti-Spyware (Sunbelt)
Anti-Spyware (Sunbelt) Definitions
and Clearwire is the ISP that we use,a wireless box
is it in relatio to
Clearwire (CLUS)

It seems that Clearwire also has it's own security suite
Which could include, AV, AntiSpyware, Popup blocker
Firewall
How is your Firewall behaving?
Also, I still see signs of the other AV running
Can you go to START>>RUN>>type in services.msc
Hit OK
In the new window that opens, look on the right hand side for the following
dvpapi
Right click on it and select Properties
In the STARTUP TYPE dropdown box set to Disabled
Apply and OK it
Reboot the computer
Post a fresh Hijackhthis log
Let me know if online browsing is still slow
-
ok so i did that, and yeah..online isnt THAT bad,i mean pages with lotsa graphics load quicker, but still slower than normal
but the thing is,like if i hit "bookmarks',it takes like 10 seconds to be able to hit the bookmark which is weird, its really unresponsive
something is makin this computer lag harder than it should...spybot DID find virtumonde earlier though, but said it deleted it
thanx for your help
any other logs i should post?
-
Can you do the following
Right click on Avast icon by the clock
Select to "Stop on access protections"
I just don't want Avast interfering
Download ComboFix from one of these locations:
Link 1 (http://\"http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe\")
Link 2 (http://\"http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe\")
Link 3 (http://\"http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe\")
Save it ONLY to your Desktop
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Temporarily Disable your AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with this tool
- Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
- As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
- Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:
Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply
NOTE: Do not mouseclick inside ComboFix window as it's running, it may cause it to stall
ComboFix will run again on startup, it will prompt that it's creating a log
This process could take up to 10 minutes, let it run uninterrupted please
-
absolutely i will do that when i get back...have a house issue,be back in 20 minutes
thank you immensely

Is startup fine on the computer?
It is only Online it seems slow?
Are things now running better?
Which browser(s) are you experiencing slow speeds, just Firefox?
-
no,it seems better..thank you
i only use firefox,i have internet explorer installed but dont use it
its just page loads, program starts and responses are lagging, but after doing the last clean it seems more responsive...i just made it a private computer (up to this week it was shared),so hopefully thatll help
did you see anything in the logs that was out of wack at all?
-
i was doing a spybot scan today, and the avast virus warning went off like 6 times, the bottom of the screen was showing the name of the virus,i kept trying to move it to the chest, but it kept coming and coming..i immediately shut off all power
im pretty sure the microsoft security warning thing is fake (the red shield on the bottom right)

The path to the file and the name would help
Also post a fresh Hijackthis log

if you local disk C is full you need to delete some of the unwanted file's or software.if you do not want to do that just partition your hard disk and send all of you music\movie files on the partition where your window is not installed on.
