hello,
i am working on a hp pavilion xl876 pc. the power supply is dead. i am looking for a replacement power supply. the one that is in it is as follows:
lite-on
model # ps-6161-2h1
output 188 watts.
does anyone know where i can find one of these? or, could anyone tell me what will interchange with it? i will try to describe it to you guys, it has your main atx plug, 4-4pin plugs. (hard drive, etc.) and then it has a smaller female with 3 holes. 2 blacks and a green. then there is another female plug with 4 holes. 1 blue, 2 black, and 1 yellow. i think this last one plugs in by the atx plug, like maybe it is for the outside switch. well, that is all i have for now. if anyone could give me a hand here, i sure would be grateful for it. if you need to know anything else about it, justlet me know. thanks again DALE

hey again,
UPDATE:
this is what is going on. i was going to replace it with about 300-350 power supply. BUT, this power supply that is in it, has the 2 extra wires. p8, p9. one is a 3 pin that plugs in by the main plug, while the other is a 4 pin plug that plugs in the board by the video card. i need to know what these 2 extra plugs are for i guess. i found a (ha ha) 90 watt atx that i had laying around and it turned it on. but of course after about 5 min it froze up. but it does not have them extra wires on it. HUH? very strange. well, if you come up with anything else, just holler back. i check in on here about 3-5 times a day. thanks again have a good 1.

hello,
i thanks all you guys for the wonderful help. i guess i am going to close this topic and see what else i can come up with. (ha ha) i am just going to strip it down, change to a case that will except more than a 188 watter, and build it back again. thanks for all the help. DALE
