Title: Account privileges?
Post by: adelaide on January 14, 2009, 12:33:40 PM: When I tried to install a game called America's Army an error message popped up saying the "1.failed to install ISKernel files. Make sure you have appropriate privleges on this machine."
A similar message popped up when I tried to run Hijack this and save a log file. The error saids "for some reason the system denied write access to the Hosts file. "

Post by: guestolo on January 14, 2009, 02:18:09 PM: It's a good idea to temporarily disable your AntiVirus software when running the installation

Afterwards: Right click on the installer and choose to "Run as Administrator"
So if you pop in the CD and it autostarts
Close it, go thru Computer and right click on the CD and choose explore
Find the setup.exe file to right click on

You may want to consider updating

Run a Disk Cleanup on your computer
Here's instructions

Clean all users
Ensure that the following are ticked
*Downloaded Program Files
*Temporary Internet Files
*Recycle Bin
*Temporary Files
The rest are optional, you can read the description and decide
