Title: WinXP won\'t boot
Post by: dmazur on December 20, 2002, 10:14:16 AM
WinXP crashed and will no longer boot. i get the message, \"File missing or corrupt\" c:windowssystem32configsystem\".  The only startup disk I have is Win98 CD which starts fine. But, when in try to intall xp from Win 98  I get the message \"This program cannot be run in Dos mode.\"

Will someone pls provide a procedure that will get me up and running again.

P.S. Is it possible to simply replace the existing system file with the original that\'s on the WinXP disk? If so, how can I extract it?

Thx.
