is there anyway to make your OWN recovery cd? just like the ones that come with gateways and what not. this would be great if you could get your system back to  the way you wanted it if needed.

Get a program that makes an image of your partition or harddisk and your system  and you can allways put back your system as it was before .That is when you replace your image regularly , with a more recent image . I will not go into advertising , but there\'s more than one such program

DrvImageXP is a nice freeware utility that will do what you want.
