Title: Keyboard and Mouse not working

Hi my flatmates computer has a bit of a problem where the mouse and keyboard work intermittently and randomly stop working. Both are Compaq, but i tried using a different mouse without any luck. I'm thinking it may be a driver problem but would have no idea where to begin any help would be appreciated

Are they USB or PS2 connections?
When you boot to safe mode, do the connections work?

Both are ps2 and haven't tried in safe mode.  The problem seems to come and go which is the weird part.  Will try safe mode and get back to you

No not working in safe mode either.  When you wiggle the chords the lights flash on mouse and Keyboard. I've tried the mouse on another computer and it works fine

What's the exact Make/model of computer?
It could be a bad connection from PS/2 to motherboard
But that's a guess

Its a compaq but i'm not sure what model. How do i find the model?
