I don\'t know what I did wrong, everytime I try to install the Sims an error screen pops up saying ntvdm.exe has failed to initialize properly. First off, what the hell is ntvdm.exe and second, how do I fix the problem?
thx, ahhmyeye

I think this answers your first question .
In winxp there is ntvdm.exe and ntvdm.dll , If there\'s something wrong with one of those files your virtual dos environment will not install .

perhaps this will help too

Thankz for trying. But it didn\'t work. Another question, my sister has the same Xp OS as me. Since my ntvdm.exe is corrupted then can I replace mine with her\'s? Or I am just screwed?

Try replacing the two files , ntvdm.exe ,and ntvdm.dll you could be lucky , anyway it\'s worth trying , and as they come from the same os (winxp), there\'s no problem replacing them .
