Title: who uses linux?

do the windows emulatos really work? like, could i install any game i wanted and use it without problems? or do they just work for certain programs?

God i dont know to be honest. I NEVER game anymore...on any PC/MAC platform and home consoles..i mean NEVER.

However *MOST* should run

with directx9 out now i couldnt say for sure any of those would run at all...but im not too sure what games require directx9 for full support right now...if any.

I have see game\'s like ...zhit forgive me if the title\'s are incorrect...like Battle field 1942. I saw that at a friends on win98 with a 1.8ghz amd XP and it ran better when i saw it at school today on a p4 1.5ghz running VMware (for linux not windows). However the windows version was win2k.

My suggestion to you is...since i have only ran vmware once...for the fact my linux version expired...is that for maybe what you are trying to do you should run the win version of vmware as the host...and linux as a client or whatever they call them.

All in all...i would say you can do it...however i WOULD not try to do it with win98 personally as a HOST. I would run 2k as the host or linux...never win98
