I\'m and trying to SlipStream XP to SP1 and win2000sp2 to sp3. I am getting the Same error with both. the error is \"Not all files necessary to perform an integrated installation are present.\" Obviously I\'m missing files somehow. I had no problem slipstreaming win2000 up to SP2. Has anybody seen this error and does anybody know of a way to correct this. I have reload systems just to try getting this done and have trying doing it on different type of computers.

are you targeting the i386 folder?
If so..don\'t, just target the folder the i386 is in, and you\'ll be set, it\'s not like SP2...

FDV here, too lazy to log in.
1. You didn\'t say if you are slipstreaming SP3 into an existing SP2 slipstream. If you are, don\'t. I don\'t want to type for 10 minutes about the reasons this is an ill-advised idea, just don\'t, trust me.
2. But say you aren\'t. You are most likely specifying a path and you should stop doing this. The UPDATE command will look for an I386 directory--this is hard-coded into the file.
So, if you were to create a slipstream by typing [drive]:SP3I386UPDATEUPDATE -s:[drive]:I386 like you used to see in some examples on various websites (before people actually tried it, found it didn\'t work, and fixed their sites), you\'d get an error, because UPDATE would be looking for your Windows 2000 files in [drive]:I386I386.
Note also that none of the drive letters may point to a CDRom or that would result in an error as well.
Best of luck

Yea I have the OS located on my D: drive along with the service packs. from within DOS I type \"Update.exe /s:d:2000pro\". Under the 2000pro folder is the I386 dir. If it try to send the update anywhere else I get an error saying the folder is missing.
Thanks

FDV Thanks Oraginally I was trying to Slipstream SP3 in to a win2000SP2. SInce I havn\'t got that to work I have copied the 2000 cd to my drive and tried just slipstreaming the SP3 into a clean copy. I have recieve the same error trying to slipstream XPsp1 in to XPPro and XPhome. I have also downloaded the service packs a couple extra times to to make sure that I didn\'t get a bad Download. Thanks.

Ok, I got it finally. Seems that the downloads of the Service packs were bad. after the 3rd or 4th time downloading service pack for winn2000 and XP I finally got a good one. and a good extraction. I was able to slipstream the service pack3 into win2000 Clean and win2000SP2. tested them and they Booted, loaded and ran great with out errors. Xp slipstreamed in just as good and easy. The nice generic error stating that \"Not all files necessary to perform an integrated installation are present.\" wasn\'t real helpful. It would of nice to know that the error ment that the files were missing in the service pack and not the CD image. Thanks for your help. for those who might get the same message just try extacting the service pack again and/or download the serivce pack and try again.
