Title: BOOT: Couldn't Find NTDLR
Post by: Edward_ on March 21, 2010, 06:17:46 PM
I have followed the specific instructions of http://www.thetechguide.com/win2kbootcd/ (http://\"http://www.thetechguide.com/win2kbootcd/\")

But I'm getting the infamous BOOT: Couldn't Find NTDLR error.

I'm using CDRWIN Ver 4.0G Demonstration version.

This seems so simple, what could I be missing?

(Firefox wouldn't allow text entry for this new topic...)

I'm not the one that created that tutorial, and I've never followed it's directions
I have however used NLITE to create a bootable ISO image, that I burned to CD
If that's what your after

You would also want to slipstream 2000 SP4 and the Rollup update to it

Are you willing to try that route?

Thanks for your reply.
I have already Slipstreamed SP4 with WIN2K.
I will look into NLITE.  I just want to create a bootable install CD for Win2KSP4.
Do you suggest the latest version of NLITE?
This has been crazy, I have wasted at least 30 CDs on wild goose chases, ending in a blinking cursor or the Couldn't Find NTDLR.
This process must really be like making cold-fusion...

Since you already slipstreamed SP4, I guess you have that all on CD then?

If so, create a directory on your harddrive
Such as C:\Win2000
Then copy/paste the contents of your Windows install Cd with SP4 to that new directory you made
C:\Win2000

Then yes, use the latest version of Nlite, found here
http://www.nliteos.com/download.html (http://\"http://www.nliteos.com/download.html\")

There is a tutorial on the website you can take a look at

How/when did you slipstream SP4?
With the tutorial from the link you posted earlier?
