Heres my problem, I bought XP Home about 8 months ago, installed it, used it for about 4 months and then my computer crapped out on me. I didn\'t have the money or time to build a new computer so I just slowly bought pieces here and there and a few weeks ago got it up and running. My problem is that while I was without a computer I installed XP on my mothers comp. And when I installed it on my new comp and tried to activate it, it said I have reached my activation limit (I activated twice on my comp before it crapped out on me because I got a new HD and did a fresh Instal after like 3 weeks). Is There any way around this? Like if I call Microsoft will they just laugh at me and tell me to go to hell? I have the box and reciept still if that makes any difference. Also, what if i just don\'t activate it? Will it stop working after a certain amount of time? Any help would be appreciated.

Just call up MS, if the other computer did die out then there will be no problem with getting the activation transfered to the new system.
the activation team for MS is not as mean as we think that they are, they have heard just about everything in the book so far, and your probem is very common and they totally understand.
