Reinstalling is not an option. The app works just fine
Living with it is not an option. The little window is a pain in the a$$.
Buying a new subscription is not an option. I can still download my virus updates without upgrading, reinstalling, etc, etc...
I take it from these responses so far that no one knows how to get rid of the subscription update window??...............

Reason I don't want to reinstall is because it is on several computers (at work and home) and the $$ people are too greedy to upgrade all the computers. So, I'm trying to get rid of the reminder instead.

3rd...i'm not lazy...I work full time...go to school part time and i was even working a second job part time till a few weeks ago.
For you to even take the time to make such remarks without even giving thoughts to my question, you Space Between must have lots of \"space between\" your ears.......
I'm just trying to find out something that I do not know how to do....and it seems that no one else knows how to do it either.....so I guess I am on my own......

There are only 2 reasons i can think of for not wanting to re-install it
1) You can't be bothered downloading the updates again
2) You don't have the a copy of NAV.
Haven't you heard of the Symantec 60 day money back guarantee? All you have to do is purchase the originals from any software supplier, and as long as you contact Symantec within 60 days asking for a refund (and keep your receipt) you'll be able to claim your money back. Simple!!!
I understand you want to know how to get rid of the message and there HAS to be a way, but for now why not settle on the quick fix.

obviously you are ONLY a mcse if even that. hopefully you choke on your own
actions and help someone strip you of a job.
i hope both of you realize to find someting for free is and should be a
appreciative thing...not a everyday \"its what i expect\" sort of thing.
be grateful for you what you have, dont dirty it up with your everly growing

1) How much is your time worth to you? If you had 2 jobs you should have enough cash to go out and renew it ($10.00).
2) You can buy an OEM ver of 2003 for about 10-15 bucks
3) Think of it as your paying yourself, you get one virus and you have to reload the system and it took you over 3 hours.... was that worth more than $10.00?!?!
Go to some search sites like google or yahoo and search for a pirated version of Norton 2003 and hope that it doesn't have a virus attached to it.

You say you don't want to reinstall it on several computers, but to fix the problem you will need to reinstall in on ONE computer, as follows:
1. Uninstall NAV2003 (or lower)
2. Search for and delete Catalog.LiveSubscribe (you may need to show hidden files and folders)
3. Reinstall NAV
4. Search for the new version of Catalog.LiveSubscribe (the one put on with the reinstall)
5. Copy it to a disk (or network folder).
6. Go to the other systems containing NAV and find the location of Catalog.LiveSubscribe on each one
7. On each system, replace the old Catalog.LiveSubscribe with the new one you just acquired from reinstalling NAV on ONE system.
Your LiveUpdate subscription will be moved forward. Problem solved.
However, the problem you described also MIGHT be due to the following setting, which has nothing to do with Catalog.LiveSubscribe. That annoying reminder to update can be disabled as follows:
1. Open NAV
2. Click the Options button at the top
3. Go down to Miscellaneous on the bottom-left
4. UNCHECK "Alert me on start-up, if my virus protection is out of date."
I hope this helps somebody.

I agree that you should not expect something for nothing, but finding hacks and cracks is part of the fun of the web. If I don't find it, I buy it or don't get it, I don't whinge on about it.
However, if you but a copy of say, Half-Life, It does not expire or stop you from patching it after a set time. Think about how much more work goes into this game which costs roughly the same as NAV.
Norton are just protecting themseleves from redundancy - not protecting you. I paid for the software and I want it to be useful for ever if I can get it.
No regrets.

exract the Catalog.LiveSubscribe file from zip, disable live update in norton 2002 & disabe auto protect, , delete Catalog.LiveSubscribe file from all users aplication data synamatic etc and replace with extracted Catalog.LiveSubscribe file.
hey presto all done, start auto update, next update you will get another year
