Title: IE6 Install Problem

I\'ve seen the question \"IE6 Install asks for username and password\" asked a number ot times but, so far, no answers. Is there an answer?

Yes.  Make sure you are installing it on the correct OS (ie don\'t try installing the winme version on win2k), and select the default install.  Otherwise it\'ll try to install components that aren\'t there, and unless you\'re a beta tester...you can\'t.

I\'m trying to install IE6 2649 on my Win ME. Is this the cirrect build for ME?

Hrm, well it should work.  I dunno, have you tried a bare minimal install?

Got build 2465 to install but 2469 asks for username and password regardless of what I choose to install. Minimum install doesn\'t help.

MY cd rom drive has a sofeware that u need to install in order to run it . DO need to install a cd  program i order to run game or other sofeware from cd disk.      THANK U bye
