If you have a valid Win95/98/98SE/ME/2000 OS CD, you shouldn't have a problem. Durring the install, it will ask for you to insert the CD of valid M$ OS CD to upgrade from. It wants to make sure you have an older M$ OS to upgrade from.

Some OEM's (HP, Gateway, etc.) don't give you a real M$ OS CD.

You cannot install full ver with an upgrade cd. But you can certainly upgrade 98, 2000, ME very very easily.

Good luck

What I want to do is use the product key from the upgrade disk on a full version disk.

no you cant use an upgrade key on your full version of winxp home. what you want to do is use a full version of any windows OS (95,98,ect), insert your winxp home upgrade and your done. you can get a full version of windows cheap. if you dont have your upgrade CD borrow one but use your key.

I have all the disks. I want to bypass inserting any other disk except the win xp full. What if I auto insert the upgrade serial # into the full version.
