Post by: tiburon11 on April 23, 2003, 10:45:22 PM
Hi everybody this is my second day checking these posts and i enjoyed them..!!... I would like to know if is there a way to erase  or bypass the  password protected BIOS on a windows 98 and  2k pro systems without having to remove the battery and/or resetting jumpers on the mb . Someone told me about \"killcmos\"  but i read it only works in win 95.. Is it right??..  Please  help.  Thanks in advance.   /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Can't really help much here.  The only way I know how is by removing the battery or moving the jumper like you said.  If there is indeed a win95 program, see if it's written in dos...if so, booting to a win9x floppy would do the trick.

Im not too sure why clearing cmos cant be done from the mobo in your case...but there is brute force password crackers via dos, backdoor passwords for alot of bios manufacturers, and bios flashing techniques that
will remove all security. Really flashing the bios is the easiest of the above mentioned.
