Hi to all of you
Can some please explain why in a new formatted HD (80 gb western digital ) I can't install the windows 2000 pro I get errors like ( setup cannot copy the file mouclass.sys- and some others) while is going in the copying mode.
Any help will be very much appreciated

ok try this out,
more then likly you have bad ram in the system.
go to www.memtest86.com and run that check on your ram to test it out.

I will try but one more detaile I try to install win 98 and tha installs fine that makes everything more confusing

who ever your are thank you very much I run the utility and I found major amounts of errors I will replace the ram and try again
MY ? is how is it possible to install win 98 in the machine but not the w2k

Because the Win2k install requires more memory. Say you have 256MB of ram, and the errors start around the 128th meg. If the Win98 install never uses more than 128MB of ram, it'll install fine (though you'll have problems later on whenever you try using more than 128MB). Now if the Win2k install uses more than 128MB of ram, you'll get errors right away.

Well for a quick fix you could just take out the 1 stick that is bad...if you have 2 sticks that is.
i have installed win2k on 32mb of ram...installed fine.

bad for me I have one 512 and have to wait for Monday
