Title: Auto include drivers
Post by: The_Flames on June 06, 2001, 07:55:17 AM
Is it possible to make a win 2k CD with necessary drivers to be auto installed if these drivers are not part of the win2k installation set?
I\'ve seen something about a $oem$ folder with network installs that seems to do something similar!

Can anyone help?

Yes, $oem$ should be in the i386 folder! and may contain a lot of inf files etc and also applications, this folder will be copied during the setup and can also be used during setup while autodetecting hardware

You will have to create the $OEM$ folder.
Note that contents of the $OEM$ folder are not copied when installing from a bootable cd as detailed in kb article 234536

Auto installation of the drivers requires significant modification of the layout.inf file.
I remember dell had an article about it.
Try a google search, thats how i found it.
In my opinion it isnt worth the trouble.
