I have use ntfsdos pro before and it does work.
if your just trying to format in dos then why not use a 2k/xp boot floppy, format,
then run ntfsdos.
you need to give more info on what you are trying to do.

Space Between do you understand that now!

He basically answered your question. Since there is NO dos version that will read/write to NTFS partitions, the next thing one would try to help you with is finding something that would. His answer, and the answer to use NTFSDOS, were the closest you'll get.

Download the file NTFSREADER (http://\"http://silentdragon.com/download/NTFSReader/\") boot your computer from dos (win9x boot disk) with smartdrive and run NTFSREADER, now dos is able to read NTFS.
-
use the NTFSREADER for DOS and Win

Guest, why do you want to have your disk formated in NTFS?, if you are installing Windows NT, 2000 or XP, you start with the hard drive with fat file, boot from any boot disk for win9x with smartdrive, and then you have the option to change the hard drive during installation to NTFS, even yu can choose which partition you want as NTFS!

Just discover this MAIN default of NTFS right now : we are abused with these "Emergency / Rescue diskettes" created from antivirus software !!
All our family Pc's are "FAT". My company portable is "NTFS".
Incidently last week-end, I checked my NORTON rescue diskettes on my portable. NO WAY to run NAVDX with the latest FULL Virus Definition Update : write on NTFS is needed.
