Hey,
I am trying to create a new boot log for my computer. But I'm having trouble with getting bitmaps back into the ntoskrnl file.
To start with I thought I'd just try something simple to see if it worked, so I opened resource 1 in the bitmaps tree and got rid of all the writing (Microsoft Corp. etc) so all I had left was the windows logo. But then when I tried to import it back through reshack it says: "Bitmap image is not valid.".
I thought it might be a palette problem but I didn't change any colors.
Can anyone help.
Cheers.
P.s I'm not a regular here so I'm sorry if this is asked heaps, I did have a quick look around before I posted.

first of all make sure that what u r trying to hack isn't open for exaple if i have aim open and i try to hack it then when i try to save it an error message will pop up. Another thing is did u put the resource name and file and the data i think that since whateva u r trying to do isn't working after you replacet he resource write BITMAP if it is a bbitmap file and i f it is a gif then put GIFDATA! Problem Solved! c how simple it was u bastards
