Title: reinstalling windows 2000

OK, my computer has windows 2000 pro installed on it. I want to format my c: and do a clean re install but i do not have the windows 2000 cd, only the key on the computer. What is the best way to do this? Should i just go ahead and buy ghost? and will ghost work without the original cd? or should I make a bootable cd? Thanks

Do you have a folder named I386 on your hard drive root? do you have a CD burner drive? if so, burn this (I386) folder to CD use an utility like keyfinder (http://\"http://www.magicaljellybean.com/\") to get the serial number for the OS, test your CD to make sure it works, run WINNT inside that folder (I386/winnt), and see if it installs.

When you buy software from Microsoft you pay most of the money for that little sticker that has the product code number on it. The software disks or CDs can be replaced from Microsoft direct for about $0-$15 bucks. Here is the website for Microsoft to check out and it has the phone numbers on the page to call to get a replacement CD.
