Title: w2k sp2 bootable cd
Post by: Anonymous on June 11, 2001, 09:49:00 AM
I have tried several times and failed to make the bootable cd.
I have a double boot system win me and w2k (drive c and d ) .
When booting I get the \"bootable cd \"from my scsi card and when windows is suposed to setup I get \"ntldr not found\"
and the setup is halted .I used cdrw 3.8 ,4.0 , latest update nero burning rom but nothing helped .If one could make an boot image of the 4 boot floppies of w2k, should this help
What do you advise
thx
Robert

Need to copy NTLDR files from your working W2K
from the root directory to the directory where your are
making your bootable disk from
I used Ver 4.0 of the software

I know , the ntldr , ntbootdd.sys and ntdetect.com are in de folder i386 of w2k and sp2 , but on the original w2k cd they are not in the root directory .In my w2ksp2 cd , they are in the folder i386 .Do you suppose I have to place a copy of these files in the root directory of the cd .

It shouldn\'t hurt anything, I say go for it.  It works for one guy.  If it works for you, let me know.  If it fixes alot of people\'s problems, I\'ll make a note in the how-to.

tks a lot , it works , I put the boot files ,all of them except for boot.ini in the root direcory of the cd .Ntbootdd.sys , I don\'t know where this file comes from , it was on my c: root directory , and I put it on the cd root directory too , better too much than too few .
Perhaps it had something to do with my doubleboot system .
tks again

My experience: Slipstreamed SP2 into OEM Win2k Pro and it hangs during install. Slipstreamed SP2 into retail copy and no problems at all.

I have an upgrade copy of w2k ,and slipstreaming sp2 didn\'t give me any problem .Anyway , I use Norton Ghost to back up ,and the only problem it gave me was after I got me an asc29160 scsi card .I had to make a new bootable cd of Norton Ghost with the boot image of the win me bootdisk because the necessary scsi drivers were not present on the original cd and it made write errors in dos
