Title: w xp instalation copy errors

during w xp pro installtion i am getting messages that canot copy some files - display the name of the file
so i tried to install it on another pc using the same cd & same cd drive and it worked good.
then i want back to the 1st. pc and again got the error messages
i appreciate your help

The first thing I would try is to clean the lense on the CD-Rom or replace the drive

Sorry, I should have read your whole post about the drive. Are both systems the same type of hardware specs (i.e- amount of ram and CPU)?
