Title: Mandrake 8.1 with NForce2?

Well just decided to give Mandrake 8.1 a whirl after about a year and it looks like a whole nother language... again. Anyways, my whole system is updated... Linux runs fine but I can't get a network driver or a sound driver. I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe (Nforce2 chipset) and I have downloaded the RPM. It doesn't seem to take though... could anyone provide any suggestions to what might be going on or if Mandrake will even recognize these components?

I'd start by using a newer version of Mandrake.  If you can wait a week or so, Mandrake 9.2 will be out.  Otherwise 9.1 should be fine.
