Post by: Guest_Tony on October 28, 2003, 05:25:36 PM
hi i  seems to be haviong major problems wit ghost 7.5 and 8.0 with a room of computers all have sis 900 on-board chipsets and seems to  be unable in 7.5 to  get  past the picking up address stage.

In 8.0 its is able to pick up  an ip  but  not connect to the ghost server just freezes on  establishing tcp\ip connection any  help have tried most of the drivers out there starting to  go through the menu options i.e. multicast, unicats etc.

I too have problems with this and found the following:
http://education.coretech.com.au/resources/sisboot.doc (http://\"http://education.coretech.com.au/resources/sisboot.doc\")

I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Let me know if it works for you! /blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Try using The Universal TCP/IP Network Bootdisk from http://www.netbootdisk.com/ (http://\"http://www.netbootdisk.com/\")

its slow to start with but picks up after about 5min

also the SiS900 driver is very picky when it comes to detecting the correct network duplex/speed. By default the network duplex/speed for all cards is autodetected. However since the SiS900 is such a hassle in this department, it can be overridden by manually selecting the correct speed/duplex from within the card selection menu at boot up.
