Tech Clinic / Error with burning data
« on: April 16, 2006, 02:52:58 PM »
recently i have been unable to burn data of any kind mp3s,mp4s etc to dvd like i normally do, i can normally burn anything with my combo of dvdany, dvdshrink and nero 7, but recently whenever i try to load a dvd and add files to a burn list on nero the program automatically stops responding i tried it with other software too like cheetah burner and that does exactly the same it stops responding as soon as you put a dvd in the drive and i actually have to use the end now option to get if off the screen but i can still burn cds okay so i am confused? i am happy to buy a new dvd burner as long as it fixes the problem but im not sure if it is that or something else, please help.

also i guess it helps to know the drive does still play dvds too so i guess that means the lasers ok, which is why i think its not the actual burner causing the problem.

« on: February 15, 2006, 04:15:59 AM »
hi this may be to big a problem to get fixed here but i have a problem with my laptop it started a week ago when norton wouldnt download its live updates and the computer also wouldnt open any saved word files, now it just seems to be running slower and i tried to install anydvd today and noticed how slow it has gotten i cant even open some programs but managed to do a factory restore too a couple of weeks ago in safe mode but it still has the same problem. I have tried to install ewido security suite to run a scan but i cant even get to the install screen it just wont come up and when i select restart or shutdown i get the following end program pop ups ccApp, OSA.EXE and NMain.exe i searched on these and found that two of them are too do with norton internet security so i am wondering if i should try uninstalling that. would be grateful to anyone who can help thanks.

Software / MP3s>> DVDR problems
« on: December 04, 2005, 04:22:54 AM »
hi i recently burned all my mp3s to dvdr  to save space and foolishly deleted all mp3s off my computer after only checking that one of the dvds was working, have now found out that the other one does not want to play either on my computer or through my mp3 player i dont know why as i did the same thing for both disks, the one thats not working loads onto the computer but when you try to plaay it just says that codec is not supported error but i have also tried playing through itunes and that doesnt work either, is there anyway i can change the format to make it play or has the disk just not burned correctly?? any help much appreciated, thanks.
