Hardware / Upgrade your Socket 478 P4 to PCI-E!

hey there, I have been looking for a way to use my current setup with pci-e and i've heard so many people say that its not worth is b/c it doesnt run as fast as a comparitive AGP setup.. I also noticed ASUS makes a few 478/PCI-e mobos too...
What do you guys think?
I really want to get the 1900xtx but dont want it to be crap after i spend 750 on doing this conversion..

Sony DVD/CD burner
lots of fans and crap.
