Software / Changing Boot Logo for XP

I'm trying to give my PC a new boot logo and have read the step by step tutorial http://www.thetechguide.com/howto/xpbootlogo/
The part that I'm stuck on is trying to import that palette into photoshop so I can see what the actually BMP files look like so I can alter them.
If any of you photoshop gurus can help it would be appreciated.

EDIT: I can import the palette using the swatches menu, but when I do the pictures still stay black, I tried loading the color table and then opening the files but they still stay black. I do this in photoshop, not image ready I assume.
